About the Owner of Simply Beautiful, Michele Miller:

The expression “going to the moon and back” has a new meaning after hearing the life story of Michele Miller, owner of Simply Beautiful. Although she never went to the moon, she did trek an amazing course to get where she is today, including a one-on-one combat with physical pain, low self-worth and a visually impaired body.

Michele was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 1996 and constantly struggled with the pain of her disease. As an attempt to handle the pain, she was forced to take tons of medications – a two-hour needle infusion every 6 weeks and 15 Ibuprofen a day. As a result, her body became visual affected. Michele started to see her body become puffy from the constant input of medications and noticed more cellulite on her legs. Even her son, who was 4 years old at the time, noticed the disease crippling her body. “My son said I walked like ET,” Michele said.

Michele struggled from not only the pain of RA but also the way her clothes fit her. For the past 20 years, Michele adhered to a perfect diet by avoiding certain foods such as sugar, chemically enhanced foods that include Splenda, NutraSweet, etc., and all sodas. After working so hard for the body she loved, Michele immediately noticed herself getting bigger. Michele’s doctor informed her that the medicines she was forced to take caused her to gain weight from unused portions that were stored in her body.

She became desperate to find something to make the weight gain and intense pain stop. Michele tried everything to improve her situation from traveling to Mexico for various alternative medicine solutions to extreme programs. Some of these programs included body brushing, walking in morning grass, eating only oranges for days, sitting in saunas, sitting in sit baths, and cutting all night shade vegetables from her diet. Of course, these had little impact on helping Michele’s disease.

Finally, during a trip to Indiana to visit her parents, her mom suggested a natural, mineral body wrap that removes impurities in the body from medications and diminishes the look of cellulite. Skeptical from the other treatments but still willing to try anything, Michele agreed to the body wrap. She soon found that this treatment was completely different from everything else. Michele was blown away when she saw an immediate difference in her body and the way she felt. Upon return home, her son and daughter-in-law were amazed when they saw Michele for the first time and even asked, “What happened? What did you do?”

After Michele’s incredible results, she exclaimed that she would get wrapped everyday until she got her body and health back. Unfortunately, no body wrap salons existed in the Bay Area. Michele’s husband came up with the

idea for her to open a salon. She negatively replied: “Are you crazy! I have a 7 month old, 4 year old, 5 year old and a 14 year old, and I run your chiropractic office!” But after a lot of conversation, Michele agreed that it would be best to open the body wrap salon.

Originally opening the business to help her condition, she realized that there must be others in her situation that would benefit from the body wrap. Helping others became the icing on the cake that prompted her to open Simply Beautiful’s doors in October 2004 with herself and two body wrap technicians in San Ramon. Now, the business has grown tremendously into two locations (San Ramon and Milpitas), twelve wrap technicians and a base of over 100,000 clients.

Even though Michele remains busy with her two salons, her husband’s chiropractic office and seven children, she still finds time to get wrapped every few weeks to remove her impurities. Over time, Michele has stopped taking her medications, and most importantly, she has gotten her body back. Michele is now going strong and continues to live her life with the mentality to never look back.
